In most of my articles, I give tips and Ideas on starting and maintaining a home business. In fact, one of my first ever article was titled, "Can every Tom, Dick, and Harry start a home business?"
My answer to this question was a "Yes”. But not every Tom, Dick and Harry could grow a home business. You just need to go to google and type in my name (Mary Janet Namuli) or the title of the article.
Well, back to this current article.
Haven’t you read countless times that the key to success in your home business and offline is marketing and promoting? I am sure you have come to believe such statements 100%
But wait.
The real secret to success in any home business is only one. “It is your mind”.
You can never take off on the Internet without knowing this secret. Some people (even You and me) did not know this secret but they have used it unknowingly to take off on the Net. Those have been a bit lucky.
There are a lot of free ebooks, and articles like this one out there telling you how to succeed with your home business. But doesn’t it surprise you that one reads them and follows them to the letter, yet achieve no significant success?
It is because these books and articles haven’t been telling the real key to success online. Now in this article, I’m telling it to you again. “You need only your mind to succeed with your home business.”
Yes, it is your mind. The other tools, ebooks, articles, software and Online marketing and promotion information that you may buy or get for free is useless if you do not have a positive mind.
When your mind is programmed for success, it will use many ways to keep closer to success. You will meet the right people, get lucky breaks, and receive useful free ebooks for online marketing and promotion, get training from a qualified mentor, find a need to fill, become focused, take the right actions at the right time, take risks, be willing to sacrifice, have the right
attitude etc.
That is the only truth and key to success with your home business. It will continue to be this year, the coming years and it has been the past years. You must get your mind right at first; the rest will be done with ease. You will even enjoy doing them.
Success mentors have said that you must 100% want to succeed and be wealthy. Not 99.9%, no grain of fear, hidden doubts and dislikes. You must honestly desire to be rich.
Here is what I read from an article:
Examine your self; are you on the road to success? Is your mind programmed for success? If not, when your mind is finally changed, success will finally come gushing into your life, seemingly from nowhere. You will wonder where it has been hiding all those years. It was hiding behind your own
self-doubt.
With your mind tuned and programmed for success in any home business, you will steer clear of poverty, sniff any scam and avoid it. Your mind will steer you clear of poverty thoughts, and the wasting of your time, money, friends and talents. No more wasteful preoccupations and wastefulness. Others will watch in awe and wonderment, as it seems that things always turn out in your favour. You will begin to freely give, as your newfound wealth spills over to other people’s lives.
But it all starts with your mental programming. Very few know, or will tell you this fact. With the right mindset, you can become fabulously wealthy. It is all in your mind. It is mental. That is the truth and success about wealth and success in any work at home business. It is the most important tool you will need to succeed in a home business this year. Even to be successful in your home business marketing and promotion efforts, you need to have a mind that has already been programmed for success.
If you had never know this fact, all the marketing and promotion tools, tips and information you read on home business would be useless. You would easily get discouraged; you would think that you need a good product or company that will make you instantly rich. You blame other people if you will experience home business failure, You blame your parents that they are not wealthy, You believe that there is something out there that can really help you succeed with your home business and in life.
No! Success lies within you and it starts in your mind. When you fully digest this secret, nothing will stand in your way. I discovered this secret and my work at home business took off so easily. Despite the fact that you may

Your Home Business Can Succeed By Avoiding The “Later Syndrome"?
It usually sickens me when I see people fail in their home business just because of one problem.
Many home business people are discouraged from trying to learn new knowledge or skills that will take their businesses to a new level because of time issues. They already feel that their lives are too busy and they don't see how it is possible to fit more commitments into their already jammed schedules. Other home business entrepreneurs take an overly laid-back approach to business adventure. They sign themselves up for marketing forums and affiliate programs and then don't take those forums and programs seriously. At the end of the month or year they wonder why their business, income and lives has not improved!
This is as a result of the problem of the “later “syndrome. (Never do today what you can put off for tomorrow. Better yet, never put off 'til tomorrow what you can avoid altogether! ) The later syndrome is a very big hindrance to many home businesses. Does your home business also suffer from this syndrome?
What is the later syndrome anyway? This is where by a home business owner puts off what he/she should have done today, for a later time. Simply put, the “later” syndrome is “procrastination”. Other people prefer to call it the “tomorrow syndrome” Procrastination can manifest itself in ways as simple as taking too long to write an ezine ad, putting off article submission or letting slide the date when you promised yourself you'd start an advertising campaign.
The later syndrome in our home businesses is something we can be aware of and deal with over time. Procrastination is so lethal to your home business. You should avoid it. The future of your home business depends on you, just the same as with an athlete, an actor or anyone else who depends on peak personal performance to make a living.
That's why everyone who wants to be successful in their home businesses has to take steps to deal with the ” later syndrome” if and when it appears.
How do you deal with the “later” syndrome?
Try to ensure that you be disciplined. If you have scheduled a task to be done today, do it. Do not put it off for a later date or time. In other words, improve your time management skills.
Just remember that success in home business is a result of simple disciplines performed every day. Such simple disciplines include sticking to your work shedule no matter what. For example, if you are supposed to write an article for submission today, write it. Do not give room to any excuses that may tempt you to write it later.
Failure in any home business is a result of cumulative errors in judgment and decision repeated every day. Such simple errors include procrastination (Also known as the “later” syndrome.
Another technique is to create an environment where you can fully concentrate on your work. Not all people can concentrate in a noisy and chaotic environment. So have a well designated home business office with a conducive environment favorable for concentration.
So, if you think you need success in your home business, you should steer away from the “later” syndrome. In summary, you can fight the later syndrome in your home business by following these points.
· Make a list of what needs to get done. This can be listed in no particular order and will give you a handle on just what you need to accomplish.
· Prioritise these. My way of doing this is by deadlines. I arrange them in order of when they are due. You may also choose to rank them by how important it is to get them done. For example, writing an article and submitting it to article directories on time may be more important to your home business than replying to your friends email. Do that first.
· Get yourself a calendar with room to write notes in. I personally use a bound notebook and write in dates as I go. I make pages with dates for long-term planning and also keep a separate list that I transfer my short-term goals to.
· Take what's at the top of your priority list and determine how long it will take to accomplish it. If it's a quick task, put that down to be done the current day. If it will take a longer time, divide it into smaller tasks to be spread out over several days. Write this in your calendar with specific dates for accomplishing each. Include your deadline for completion of this task on your calendar as well.
· Keep filling your calendar until you have a time set aside to do each item while still meeting your deadlines. Be careful to not overbook yourself and allow plenty of time for delays. This will allow you to feel confident that you can accomplish all you need to in the time you have. Now you can relax and work on one item at a time without feeling you have to do it all at once.
Can You Succeed Your Home Business With Doing Bare To Nothing?
Many times you read headers that say something like: ¡°earn huge incomes from working a few hours a week¡±. Would that really be possible? Probably more often the answer is no instead of yes. Why is that?
The answer to this question is rather simple. Just think in basic economics. Economics say that in an open economy, and the Home Business is just that, businesses that are very lucrative will sooner or later attract competition. Why is that? Because businesses, read people, always try to find the best deal. The best deal is the place where the earnings compared to the investment are most favourable. Thus, when many people would start doing bare to nothing but still earn large amounts of cash, this would attract many more other people. Thus, competition would increase and increasing competition means you need to do more and more, or start to work ever cleverer, to reach the same results in income. The fact that when people join a business that claim they have this magic formula and announce this to the world, you bet that many more people read it and join it. Because everybody uses that same business format, everybody is doing the same and you are creating an arena where you will need to put in more efforts than the average to make it work. You just created a market where there is suddenly a lot of supply of the same thing. However, there are for sure people out there that can claim they do not need to do too much and still make a decent living. This has to do with the supply and demand equation. The demand is still higher than the supply. This balance will eventually shift.
If you are still not convinced, just think of it in another way. Your income needs to come from somewhere. In many cases it is about selling some kind of product. It doesn¡¯t matter if you are in as an affiliate, who needs to recruit sellers or other affiliates, or you are in as a salesman for the actual product. You will need to start moving in order to earn that income. No company will ever give you money for not bringing in any earnings.
But then you might think, I just advertise with Google Ads or with whatever, and the customers are pouring in. Of course, the power of marketing can be great. But think again. You are probably not the only one who is doing advertising. That means you must be very good or do a lot of advertising, which by itself can be expensive, to bring in the customers. Either way, you will need to invest in it, whether it is in time or money.
Still, it can be very rewarding to have your Home Business. But if you start with the expectation of having an easy ride, you might have a rude awakening.
Could You Succeed With A Home Business?
Robert Pickering
Virtually anybody can succeed with their very own successful home business, and yet the majority fail with their home business.
Why!...Three main reasons why people fail.
1. Not really getting started.
Lots of people sign up for some program or another and think that is all there is to it, and that the money will come rolling in, wrong! As with anything getting started is the hardest part requiring planning and organisation, get this part right and the momentum you create will then push your business forward in leaps and bounds, any reputable program will have all the information you require to get your home business off to a flying start.
2. Half hearted approach.
Many people fall into this category. Oh well I gave i ago, but it did not work out for me, did not really expect it to, these people are just looking for an excuse to fail. This is an attitude that we acquire as we grow up, as a child failure was not part of your vocabulary. For example learning to ride a bicycle, no doubt you probably fell off more than once, it hurt, but it did not stop you, you would get back on it until you mastered the skill, same with your home business you will have falls, it is all part of the learning curve, you will learn more from these slight setbacks than from your successes enabling you and your business skills to develop.
3. Belief
This is probably the most common category, this is also the biggest difference between successful people and the vast majority of people, no matter what walk of life they come from, everybody as dreams and ideas, the difference between some body successful, and the vast majority of people, is that successful people have the belief and conviction to make their ideas happen doing what ever is needed to fulfil their dreams, if you do not really believe in your home business how will you convince anybody else too. Believe in your business and other people will as well, believe, and your business will thrive.
Getting started.
This can seem a pretty daunting task, and this is where most people fail, but don`t worry, even if you know absolutely nothing about home businesses, as stated earlier all reputable programs will supply you with all the help, information and support that you will require, to ensure that your business is a success.
Motivation.
What motivates somebody to start their own home business, desires, pleasure. Millions dream of the benefits of owning a successful business, financial Independence for one and with that comes personal freedom, figures out indicate that on an average day six million residence of America alone search for home business opportunities, but desires and dreams of a better lifestyle are not always enough to motivate somebody into action, the biggest motivator of all is often pain, losing ones source of income, or a reduction in income for what ever reason, the emotional pain that comes with trying to exist on a reduced income level as motivated thousands of people into starting their own successful home businesses. Don`t let pain be your motivator, instead let your desires and goals motivate you and your business, allowing you and your family to live the lifestyle you deserve and dream about.
In Conclusion
Once you have made the decision to start your own home business, just keep focused on what motivated you to start your home business in the first place, this will provide the drive required to push your home business forward. A final thought, what if you was to take the action required today? what might your lifestyle be like in a years time?

Are You Destined To Succeed In The Business World?
The work at home industry is comprised of two types of people.
The first group want to work at home so they can wake late, work in their PJs, and watch their favorite soap. These people may have succeeded in the corporate world, or in a regular job. They may be university graduates. They are just looking for an easier way to live their lives.
These are societies adventurers. They are separated from the ‘lazy’ segment of society by the fact that they work much harder at making their ‘get rich easily’ schemes work than most CEOs work at making corporate America work.
These people are often seen as dreamers. Their motivation may to stay at home and raise the children, get out of the rat race, build multiple streams of income, start building wealth by investing, or to do a better job than their boss did. However, their drive is to succeed.
The second group are innovators.
Innovators come from two places. They may be part of the newly defined Indigo personality type. These people may, or may not be geniuses. They help others, and often self destruct because they were forced to fit into the 4 main personality types, living in a cubical, and forced to maintain the status quo.
The second type of Innovator may, or may not, be a genius. In fact, they probably have never been tested. They just know that they are trapped in the corporate world. They probably have not reached a level of success that challenges their capabilities – but one, or more, managers have launched their careers by stealing this innovator’s ideas. When there is a deadline, or problem, this innovator is forced to solve it – and they do.
Where to You Fit?
Women have a harder time determining where they fit in this scheme then men. A man works from home and he is left alone for most of the day. However, women are often expected to take on the housework, run errands, and stop working when the family arrives home at night.
I am mentioning this because these things must be addressed before the woman leaves the workforce. Statistics have proven that even a simple task like ‘throwing a load of laundry in’ can substantially tip the balance between success and failure.
Men have their own problems to face. The number one mistake they make is asking their wives to work as secretaries. Wives rarely have the skills, or motivation, needed to succeed. If they did, they’d be in the workforce. Do yourself a favor and either do your own paperwork – or hire a ‘real’ secretary – a skilled worker.
The odds are, if you see yourself in one of the top categories then you will make an excellent, and successful entrepreneur.
If you fit into the first category, then you probably do not have the management skills needed to succeed, but now that you are aware of that drawback, you can remedy it easily.
People who fit into the second category can easily succeed, but they may find themselves trying to diversify too much.
A good manager starts any endeavor by focusing on themselves first. Measure your own strengths and weaknesses and find a business that ‘fits’ your skills, drive, and personality.
3 Tips For Every Woman Starting A Home Based Business - Challenges To Expect, Keys To Succeed
More and more women today work from home, and even more want to. Some are single moms or widows who need to earn a living. Others just want a little extra income or a sense of independence. Particularly for women, starting a home business presents a unique set of challenges. Lesley Spencer, founder and president of Home Based Working Moms (http://HBWM.com), suggests three steps to help ensure success:
1. Consider Your Options
The first obstacle in starting a business is figuring out which one’s right for you. Before making any decisions, find out what’s available to you. Almost anything you can do—whether it’s graphic design, sales and marketing, or administration—you can do from the comfort of your home. Before determining a direction, look at all factors involved:
• Your skills and interests. You’re much more likely to persevere and succeed if you enjoy what you’re doing.
• Your personality. If you’re extremely shy, hosting home parties might not be right for you — even if you really like the product you’re selling. Many women fail because they jump into the first thing they see, and it doesn’t work with their disposition.
• Your needs. How many and what hours can you work? How much money do you have to make? How much flexibility do you need in your schedule?
Once you’ve researched your opportunities and analyzed your skill set, you can make an informed, intelligent decision about which career move is right for you.
2. Make a Conscious Effort to Develop Your Customer Base
Many women are good at what they do, but don’t know how to market themselves to reach customers. Spencer advises, “Make a conscious decision to do something to market your business daily, or at least weekly, whether it’s a mail-out, an email campaign, or offering a special.”
Word-of-mouth referrals mean more business, so focus on doing a good job for the clients you have. Always do follow-up — you want to stay in contact and remind people you’re there. Having a web site, an online presence, is another tool you can use to attract new customers.
3. Don’t Be a Lone Ranger — Find a Support Network
You don’t have to feel alone or try to handle everything yourself — there are many online communities that can provide you with support and advice. Http://HBWM.com, and many online groups, offer what’s called a ListServe that lets you post questions that all members of that site can see and respond to. Says Spencer, “You can save hours of research just by asking someone with experience.” Whatever business you’re in, there’s a forum for it. Seek out people that have already succeeded — find a mentor.
Are You Convinced That You Succeed Your Home Business?
The title of this article can be answered by a simple yes or no. But it is the most important one to ask yourself again and again. Undoubtedly, most people starting their Home Business will answer this question with a firm yes. Why else would they start it in the first place? But what happens after a few months? Many people start to doubt and don¡¯t know what to do next to get those sales.
Of all the tricks, formulas, ad campaigns that help you be a success in your Home Business, the one that is most important is your confidence in your success. The moment you start to doubt everything else you are doing is not important anymore. Do you recognise this? Sure you do! Everybody has been in such a situation. Not believing anymore in your business is like killing it softly. You still do your thing, but less energetic, and not so much of it as you used to, and with less creativity.
People who start to lose hope are the ones who eventually stop their Home Business. How can you make sure this does not happen to you? First of all, make it clear to yourself that it will take time and that it is not easy to be successful in your Home Business. It is no problem to be realistic, which should not be confused with a negative look on business. Second of all, know that there is a good chance that not everything you do will be a success. Be prepared to change your action plan and that you sometimes need to change your direction. And third of all, be determined.
The above are three simple rules to obey, but hard to follow. Many times these three simple rules are overpowered by all the other things that come your way when doing your Home Business. What about the numerous success stories of others? Great to hear, but forget about them. You are You and You know that it is all about Your belief and not about theirs. Or what about the incredible offers that give you a load of traffic and sales? Fantastic, but concentrate on the thing you do and forget all those offers that just will give you an unrealistic expectation. I wish all of you a great conviction and the rest will come.
Angel Startups Are The Best Way To Make Your Business Succeed.
This is a true story of how a business angel could have helped my friend, she was tipped at being a self made millionaire but instead after 3 years she claimed bankruptcy and gave it all up. I have changed her name and omitted details of the invention to protect her identity.
I met Sarah on an access course and found her nice but a bit bossy and competitive. One day we were talking about going to university and she asked me what I planned to do and what she thought would make her the most money. I had plans to study computer science and suggested CAD (computer aided design) would probably bring in the most money. In the end I became pregnant and my partner and I decided to start up our own business from home. We got a loan from the Princes Trust to start us off. My friend went on to University and I didn’t here from her again until 3 years later when she was just about to graduate.
I was watching the local news and my old friend Sarah was the main story. She was being tipped to become a self made millionaire all because of her final year dissertation. She had invested a product that was tipped to sell world wide and make her a fortune. She had won numerous awards and had been asked to appear on a number of television shows including This Morning and Living Genius. There was a big hipe around her and this new product and she was getting investors left right and centre. The university bent over backwards to help their star pupil and advised her on what to do next.
Around that time unfortunately for me my relationship had crumbled and my partner had left me for some cleaner and took the business with him, leaving me a single parent on benefits. I tried to get a job but was told by my local job centre that even though I was more qualified than the job centre lady interviewing me I would be not be better off going to work infact worse off. This made decide to go to University.
After my first year at uni I had seen my friend on a program and thought I must get I back in touch with her as she seemed to be doing so well and I was pleased for her. She was a hard worker and obviously deserved all this attention and the rewards from it. I got back in touch with her through a mutual friend and I popped round to her new business premises to see her. She was sat behind a desk with all her awards and certificates behind her on the wall and she looked like the cat how had got the cream, and who could blame her. I was a little envious I guess but I thought she had got a little two big for her boots and all she talked about was her her her. The premises were huge, far to huge I thought for a starting out business. She was renting part of the space out as it was so huge and the costs were so high. I remember thinking then that this will fail, she had daft ideas and was not very business minded. Her husband didn’t seem to have a clue about anything and was little help.
She was going on about a global company that want to buy her product and sell it via their outlets around the world, but they want to change the material and use their name and packaging. Sarah however wanted to sell her product with her own box and packaging and sell to little outlets around the county and give the smaller businesses a chance. Big mistake! That company would have made her the millionaire that everyone claimed she was going to be. Had I been her investor or business partner or adviser I would of jumped at that offer. I had already thought that I liked the idea of the product but I too thought it would sell better if it was a different material. I daren’t of told her that as this was her baby and she would argue the toss.
She plodding on for another 18 months or so and things never really took off. She was running at a loss and there was no sign of the millions she thought she would make. After another year she gave up completely. The entire buzz around her and the invention vanished and she was left stressed and feeling a failure.
So the moral of this story is it takes more than just a good invention and hard work to make a business become successful. I believe if she had been given the right firm advice and ignored all the hype and press surrounding her she would be that millionaire. Her invention was good, but needed tweaking so as to make it a global success. She should have listened to the advice of professionals and looked at her invention as a business venture not as her precious baby. By turning down a big contract with a huge global company she lost out. But I believe if she had the right backing she could have been a huge success.
10 Tips to Succeed in Your Legitimate Home Business
Virtually everyone would jump at the chance to start a legitimate home business so they could work at home and attain financial freedom. But not everyone has what it takes to transform a home business opportunity into financial success. Here are ten tips that will help you achieve your personal and financial goals through running your own legitimate home business.
1. Secure your start-up funds. Any successful business owner will tell you that you need to invest money in your business in order to make money. A home business is no exception. Expect to spend a maximum of $5,000 for a legitimate home business opportunity. If the opportunity is sound, you should be able to get back your initial investment within a matter of days or weeks, but you do need that initial investment.
2. Get high-speed Internet. If you don't already have DSL or a broadband Internet connection, you should have it installed. The best home business opportunities are Internet based, so you need reliable and speedy Internet access.
3. Find the right opportunity. Like every other person, you have a unique set of strengths and weaknesses. Find a legitimate home business that draws on your strengths. If you aren't a salesperson, for example, stick with a home business that doesn't require you to make cold calls.
4. Get support. Launching your own business can be a daunting prospect, so be sure that you have the support you need. Look to family members and friends for encouragement, and look to the company with which you affiliate to provide you with a sense of community.
5. Take advantage of available resources. Unless you are a seasoned entrepreneur, you probably aren't aware of the nuances of running a business. The home business opportunity you choose should have a number of resources available to you, so take advantage of them. These resources might include a back office set-up, daily or weekly conference calls, and online tutorials.
6. Key in on marketing. The success of any business, whether a brick-and-mortar store or an Internet-based business, is marketing. The bottom line is, if people don't know about your business, you'll never turn a profit. Take full advantage of the marketing tools and advice that you're provided.
7. Set up a wok schedule. The wonderful thing about being able to work at home is the flexibility that comes with it. However, setting your own work hours doesn't mean that you don't have to work. It's helpful - particularly when you're starting out, to schedule your work hours as though you were going in to a "regular job." In doing this, you'll ensure that you put in the time necessary to make your business succeed.
8. Minimize any distractions. If you've never worked from home before, it's easy to divert your attention from the task at hand. While you're working, close the doors of your home office, turn down the ringer on your home phone, and vow not to check your personal email. Forget the laundry and the errands, and concentrate on your business.
9. Keep good records. It may not seem important know, but come tax time, you'll need financial records of all of the expenses and income associated with your home business opportunity. Some people use a spreadsheet, while others use special accounting software. Either way, keep track of everything, and keep your receipts.
10. Have fun! Having the knowledge that you're working toward your financial freedom while being able to work at home in a legitimate home business is incredibly rewarding. Always keep your goals in mind, and have fun creating a stable future for you and your family.
